The verb “faire” is widely used in French and has additional meanings compared to English (to do / to create). It is used for almost everything in everyday language. It could mean, for example:
- The practice of the activity:
- Je fais du vélo (bicycle)
- Il fait du football
- Nous faisons du sport tous les jours
- The weather condition:
- Il fait beau aujourd’hui
- Il fait quel temps ? (How is the weather?)
- To ask for someone’s profession:
- Tu fais quoi dans la vie ?
- Il fait quoi comme profession ?
- An action:
- Je fais un cours de français (I am doing a French course)
- Il fait la cuisine (He cooks)
- Tu fais quoi là ? (What are you doing here?)
- Nous ne faisons rien (We do nothing)
